Polo reorders and matching colors between orders
A uniform program is only as good as its reorders. Battle Born Clothing keeps your digitized file, thread numbers and style spec so the twentieth polo matches the first. Here is what we control and what the shirt maker controls.
What we keep on file
| Item | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Digitized stitch file | Same stitches, same size, every run |
| Thread numbers by shirt color | Logo colors match across navy, black and white shirts |
| Style, color and placement spec | No re-explaining the job |
| Size roster (if you share it) | Faster reorders for new hires |
Thread color is the easy part
We run Rapos polyester thread and record the exact thread numbers used on your first job. A reorder uses the same numbers. If a thread shade is ever discontinued we pick the closest match and show it on the proof before stitching.
Shirt color is the maker's part
Blank polos come in dye lots. Two navy K500s from different lots can differ slightly, the way two cans of the same paint can. For most programs this is invisible once shirts are spread across a staff. If a perfect match matters (a photo day, a trade show), order everyone's shirts in one batch and say so on the quote so we pull from one lot when we can.
Sticking with one style
The best defense against drift is to pick a long-running style. The Port Authority K500 has been in the line for years and colors are stable. Trendy or seasonal polos get discontinued; then a reorder means a new style and a new look. We flag this on the quote when you pick a style that is at risk.
How a reorder goes
- Send the quote form with 'reorder' and your last order date or job reference.
- List quantities by style, color and size.
- We quote the same day at the current tier; small reorders price at 12-23.
- You approve a proof (usually identical to the last one) and we stitch from the kept file.
- 28 days from proof approval, same as a first order.
Matching across styles and cuts
Programs usually mix a K500 for the office, an L500 for women's cuts and a performance polo for the field. We stitch all three from the same file at the same size and use the same thread numbers, so the logo reads identically across the company. On a reorder, tell us which styles are in the batch and we match to the kept spec. If you add a new style later, we show it on a proof next to the existing one before stitching.
If a color is discontinued
Makers drop colors. When that happens we tell you on the quote, show the nearest current color, and if it matters we suggest ordering a full replacement batch instead of mixing. For long-lived programs we recommend core colors (black, navy, white, red, royal, charcoal) that have stayed in the line for years.
Why embroidery reorders better than print
A stitch file produces the same logo every run. A screen print depends on a new screen, ink mix and press setup each time, so small shifts in color and size are normal. For a uniform that will be reordered for years, embroidery is the more repeatable choice. That is one reason Battle Born Clothing defaults to it on company polos.
Example reorder
| Line | Qty | Each | Total |
|---|---|---|---|
| Port Authority K500, left-chest logo (12-23 tier) | 15 | $19.55 | $293.25 |
| Digitizing | 0 | Already on file | $0.00 |
| Total before 2XL+ sizes and shipping | $293.25 |
Reorder checklist
- Reference your last order so we pull the right file.
- Confirm the shirt color and style are unchanged.
- Send sizes by cut.
- Say whether anything new is needed (names, a second location).
- Allow 28 days from proof approval.
When the logo changes
A new logo is a new digitizing fee ($18.99) and a new proof. If you want to phase it in, we can run both files during a transition and retire the old one when you say so. See pricing for current rates.
Questions
Is there a charge to keep our file on hand?
No. Digitizing is a one-time $18.99 and the file stays with Battle Born Clothing for reorders.
Can you match a logo another shop embroidered?
Usually close. Send a photo of the existing polo and the logo file; we digitize to match size and colors and show it on the proof.
